Books
We publish to books of ham author VK4KVK. VK4KVK has spent years focussed on restricted-space antennas. In part because of the unusual circumstances he has had to live with in various cities over the years. His passion for antennas has remained with him since he got his radio license all those years ago. In his younger years, he was employed as an engineer with a prominant global radio and antenna manufacturer. Nowdays, he spends much of his time either writing about, modelling or making antennas for hams with a distinct focus on restricted space designs. Much of the focus of KVK Antennas is publishing his books.
The VK G5RV HandbookISBN 978-0-9757689-3-8 This book was written as a reference source for some new ideas on a well known ham antenna - Varney's G5RV. The G5RV has been used by hams the world over and is known as an excellent, efficient, multiband antenna. Trouble is - it is large. This book was inspired by the previous efforts of Varney and the desire of the author to bring the antenna into the restricted-space arena. Click here for more info.
The VK Antenna Handbook for Restricted SpacesISBN 0-9757689-0-5 This book was written as a single-source reference for the ham-shack. It is crammed with over 30-years of experimenting and living with restricted-space antennas. It puts forward many antenna designs and descriptive modes of operation to help explain how and why these antennas work. If there is one ham book you treat yourself to this year, then this should be it.
The NuBeam AntennaISBN 0-9757689-2-1 This book discusses at
length the how and the why of the authors compact NuBeam antenna. At
less than half the size of comparable yagis, it is a restricted space
operators delight. If you want to know how and why the NuBeam
works, or maybe you want to build one, then this book is a must. The TLV AntennaISBN 0-9757689-1-3 This book discusses at
length the TLV vertical antenna, a Marconi-style quarter-wave
radiator that focusses on avoiding the hassles of the lossy
LC-trap vertical. It achieves multi-band operation and goals itself on
higher level of efficiency on the lower bands.
